The Nerf Rival Fate XXII-100 is a spring-powered, single-shot, pistol-style blaster with an adjustable rear sight and a T-pull priming handle.

Like the Rival Pathfinder, the Fate is part of a subseries that features blasters with a yellow and light blue color and a new ammunition type called Accu-Rounds.

In this review of the Rival Fate XXII-100, I will walk you through the characteristics of this blaster, and I will share my unbiased thoughts with you.

What Is the Nerf Rival Fate?

The Rival Fate is the third Rival blaster released in the Accu-Round subseries, after the Vision and the Pathfinder. It’s a compact, pistol-style blaster with a well-sized grip, a T-pull priming handle, and a breech-loading system.

The Fate fires Accu-Rounds, but can also fire the standard High-Impact Rounds. Accu-Rounds are very similar to High-Impact Rounds but are blue instead of yellow and have larger dimples.

Accu-Rounds are meant to improve accuracy and velocity, but in reality, they aren’t any noticeably better than the classic Rival Rounds. They are also cross-compatible, so you can use both for whatever Rival blaster you have.

3 Reasons to Buy the Rival Fate

Here’s my take on the Nerf Rival Fate.

1. Reliable Pistol

While the pistol may not be everyone’s cup of tea, I’ve always been a big fan of this type of Nerf blaster. So, when Nerf comes out with a new pistol-style blaster, I get excited!

And having played with the Fate for some time, I can honestly say that it is a rock-solid pistol. It’s a simple blaster, super easy to use, comfortable in the hand, and performs well.

In other words, it’s the perfect pistol and the perfect secondary blaster.

2. Good Performance

The Rival Fate performs above expectations. I consistently get it to fire above 90 FPS (feet per second), which is really good and better than pretty much all other Nerf pistols.

That is with both Accu-Rounds as well as with High-Impact Rounds. I didn’t experience a noticeable difference in performance between the two types of ammunition.

3. Solid Ergonomics

As you’ve noticed, the Fate has a T-pull priming handle. That may look a bit awkward at first, but once you start using it, you’ll see that it is super intuitive and works incredibly well.

The Fate is a breech-loaded blaster. Simply pull the T-pull priming handle, the breech opens up, and you can load one round. Once it’s loaded, you close the breech by pressing the barrel back in, and you’re good to go.

I’ve always been a fan of the Rival Kronos, but the Fate is a much better blaster when it comes to ergonomics and usability. The priming is super easy, and the handle is well-sized.

Conclusion

I am giving the Rival Fate a big thumbs up. First and foremost, I am happy that Nerf is continuing the Rival series (one of the best-ever Nerf series), and the Fate is an excellent blaster in that range.

If you’re in the market for a well-performing, secondary blaster, the Nerf Rival Fate is not going to disappoint. It performs above expectations, looks good, feels solid, and the priming mechanism is easy and smooth.

Overall, I am very happy with the Fate, and I consider it now one of my favorite Nerf pistols. I would even rate it better than the Kronos.
