1. Nerf Fortnite TS-R Super Soaker

Nerf Fortnite TS-R Super Soaker

Released in 2019 as part of the Fortnite series, the TS-R Super Soaker is a pump-action, triggerless water blaster that delivers plenty of summer fun.

The reservoir cap is located at the back of the blaster and provides access to a tank that holds up to 36 fluid ounces (about 1 liter) of water. While that’s not the largest capacity out there, the TS-R makes up for it with its smooth pump-action firing and eye-catching Fortnite-inspired design.

This one is all about fast, easy soaking and looks great while doing it.

Nerf Super Soaker Hydro Frenzy

The Nerf Super Soaker Hydro Frenzy stands out with its two water tubes and adjustable nozzle that lets you choose between three spray styles: parallel streams, wide blasts, or twisting sprays that shoot water in all directions.

The sliding nozzle makes it quick and easy to switch modes during play, and the 709 ml tank offers a decent amount of water for continuous action.

Just fill it up, pump the handle, and start soaking. The twisting spray mode is especially fun, adding an unpredictable element to every water fight.

5. Nerf Super Soaker Hydra Water

Nerf Super Soaker Hydra Water

The Nerf Super Soaker Hydra Water is a large, high-airflow plunger-style blaster that holds an impressive 65 fluid ounces (about 1.9 liters) of water.

With a tank that size, it easily earns the title of the biggest Super Soaker on this list. Firing is simple: pump the handle back and forth to release powerful streams of water toward your opponents.

The Hydra’s massive capacity means fewer refills and more soaking time, but it also makes the blaster heavier, weighing nearly 1 kilogram. It’s not too heavy, though it may be a bit much for smaller kids.

Check out my article about the history of Nerf and learn more about the Nerf and Hasbro brands throughout the years.

About the Super Soaker Brand

Contrary to popular belief, Nerf did not invent the Super Soaker brand. The name actually came from the toy manufacturer Larami, which introduced it in the late 1980s.

The real inventor of the Super Soaker water gun is Lonnie Johnson, a former NASA engineer who worked on major projects such as the Space Shuttle. In his spare time, Johnson enjoyed inventing new things, and in 1982, he created a prototype for a high-powered water gun.

It wasn’t until 1989 that Johnson connected with Larami, who saw the potential in his design and decided to bring it to market. The first version was called the Power Drencher, a fitting name that captured its appeal. A few years later, it was rebranded as the Super Soaker, and the rest is history.

When Nerf’s parent company, Hasbro, acquired Larami in 1995, it also became the owner of the Super Soaker brand. Since then, Nerf has released a long line of creative and powerful Super Soaker blasters, keeping the brand alive and popular.
